Lifted tonight, and ran
2.75 miles in 30 minutes.
Pathetic.
But I did run. That's something, at least.

it's still better than most of the people around you can run, i bet.
the issue with running is that if you don't keep at it, it kicks your ass; this is why injuries suck so bad because really it comes with getting out of running-shape.
an important thing to remember is to just go for run-over-run goals. right now you're seeking to get back under a 10-minute mile. i always enjoy trying to go a little faster or a little farther; some days i FAIL and some days i realize i'm at a steady 8 minutes. (for me that's pretty good.) just keep your head up and remember that if you can do 3.25 in 30 minutes by this time in two weeks you've gotten under 10, and then worry about getting under 9, etc.

You ran! That is awesome (and more than I've done in a couple of months)!

Considering where you were a couple months ago... This is a huge step in the right direction. For now, though, stop looking at your speed! There is no sense in beating yourself up with numbers that tell you what you already know.
